Felipe Barbosa

Felipe Barbosa is an artist from Rio de Janeiro that transforms objects like footballs and firecrackers into sculptures and wall art. Mr. Barbosa enjoys recycling readily available “found objects” to create his sculptures and wall hangings. Felipe was born in 1978, and has apparently been fascinated with geometric shapes from an early age. He began a series of art works using footballs (aka soccer balls) in 2003. In addition to soccer balls, Felipe has created a variety of sculptures using other sporting objects such as tennis rackets, and golf clubs.
